Funds support a collection of essays on topics related to the significance of Rhode Island’s 1663 Colonial Charter, in order to increase awareness and interest in Charter-related programs happening throughout the state in 2013. Contributing scholars will contextualize the nature of Rhode Island’s religious freedom, the legal implications of the Charter, the effect on future settlements within the state, and the overarching impact of religious freedom on the world today.
